Joffrey Hollsworth Fuses the Quirks of a Gamer with Rap!

Written by on March 20, 2020

Joffery is a musical melting pot- just like his home of Canada is, culturally. He had a passion for singing, performing and writing from an early age. The Vancouver native always drew his ideas and inspiration from the many flavors around him, but it wasn’t until graduating high school that his journey led him to believe that he could build a life in his art.

Hip-Hop music was the place he felt most comfortable in because, like him, it’s very versatile. So Joffrey played around with ideas for a couple of years and finally came into a style all his own which combines the quirks of anime and video games with the conscious rap he’d come to appreciate.

Joffrey’s biggest influences are Gorillaz, Outkast, Mariah Carey, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Missy Elliott, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Beyoncé, Queen, Black Eyed Peas, and No Doubt.

“I love a song you can dance to, but I’m even more interested in music that makes you think. So I’m out to do both. You want change? Here I am.” -Joffery

You can hear his song “Bump” from his new project, Joffrey Hollsworth – EP, on Vybed Out Radio now, playing in our Pop’n’Roll playlist!
